What is Fork Tuning/Sound Vibration Therapy?

Fork Tuning/Sound Vibration Therapy (aka BioSonic Repatterning) is a therapeutic procedure that utilizes the concept of resonance which, in one way or another, affects everything in the known universe – including our bodies. Because of this, all matter (both organic and inorganic) has a relationship to sound and can be manipulated through vibration. In the case of Sound Vibration Therapy, this connection between vibration and our bodies can be used for beneficial purposes, such as healing.

Initially, a renowned composer/pianist and naturopathic doctor, John Beaulieu, N.D., Ph.D., discovered a means of using vibration to promote natural healing and consciousness expansion. His pioneering technique is called BioSonic Repatterning™ and uses sound modalities, which include tuning forks, in order to accomplish the promotion of therapeutic healing. The sonic ratios used in this therapy are based on harmonious ratios that are found in nature and by adjusting the vibration patterns of the human body, to align with the healthy vibratory frequency found in our natural surroundings, a number of benefits can be achieved.

What are the benefits of Fork Tuning/Sound Vibration Therapy?

By using the inherent capacity of sound, to access the physical, spiritual and emotional levels of our nature, the following benefits can be achieved:

  • The promotion of healing through sympathetic resonance
  • Adjustment of the nervous system in order to achieve a healthy balance
  • Enhancement of other therapies, which include; acupressure, massage, etc.
  • Relieving stress and providing instantaneous relaxation
  • Enhancing physical and mental energy and capabilities
  • Increase brain functions such as mental clarity and the integration of right and left brain patterns

How are tuning forks used in Sound Vibration Therapy?

Tuning forks are used to fine-tune a musical instrument through their ability to produce a perfectly accurate sound pattern (sine wave pattern) that will allow someone to match an instrument to. When a tuning fork is used, the air surrounding the fork will vibrate at a specific frequency. So, when a tuning fork that is specifically designed for this form of healing, is struck, the energy that is manifested by this action can then be directed to certain areas of the body that the practitioner is attempting to heal.

The practitioner strikes the tuning fork, places it near the targeted body parts, such as chakras. When targeting energy centers, located along the spine, different organs will receive impulses from the nerve centers that are being energized. This serves to stimulate the organs to encourage health-producing activity. In addition, once the body is addressed in this manner, the individual will immediately enter into a deep state of relaxation, as the healing is being promoted.

Additional benefits of Fork Tuning/Sound Vibration Therapy

The use of this form of therapy is not only safe and effective, but it can also enhance other energy therapy practices, through its positive alteration of the body’s biochemistry. These include:

  • Yoga
  • Polarity Therapy
  • Reiki
  • Massage
  • Meditation-related therapies
  • Other alternative therapy methods designed to alleviate pain and promote healing

Because of its simplicity and readily accessible mode of healing, Fork Tuning/Sound Vibration Therapy is rapidly gaining popularity as an effective alternative healing option.
